On this episode I am joined by former Golf Channel & current Milwaukee Brewers Broadcaster Brian Anderson, TaylorMade Golf CEO David Abeles, and legendary Broadcaster Ben Wright.
Brian Anderson - Brian shared how he went from being a Catcher for St. Mary's University to being one of the youngest broadcasters in professional baseball at age 22. He talked about the cramped bus rides going from town to town but how all that experience helped him transition over to The Golf Channel. He also talked about what it was like broadcasting tournaments in the early days of The Golf Channel plus some stories about his off season job broadcasting the NBA on TNT.
David Abeles - David walked us through their catalog of equipment including what makes their TP5, TP5x, and Project (a) golf calls unique in the market. We also talked about the great success that TaylorMade players like Justin Rose, Dustin Johnson and Tiger Woods have had over the last few months. David also gave us a sneak preview into what they will be revealing at the PGA Merchandise show in January. He says it will forever change how metal woods are made.
Ben Wright - Mr. Wright told the story of how he went AWOL from his military unit so he could watch Ben Hogan play in the 1953 Open Championship at Carnoustie. He also talked about why Jack Nicklaus' 1 iron shot on the 17th hole at the 1972 US Open at Pebble Beach is the greatest shot he ever saw. He also shared his affinity for what he's seeing from the young guns out on Tour now.
