On this edition of Next on the Tee my guests are Golf Pride Marketing Channel Manager Charlie Parker, Top Instructor and regular co-host of The Morning Drive on The Golf Channel, Travis Fulton and 4 time winner on the PGA Tour Tim Simpson.
Charlie gave us an update on the great Align grips they have coming out in late April, plus some of their other popular grip styles including their Tour Sensor putting grips. We also talked about why it's important to be properly fit for your grip size and how often we should regripping our clubs.
Travis Fulton shared thoughts on some of the cool new products he saw at this year's PGA Merchandise Show. He talked about why it's easier to build your game around being a great driver of the ball vs. a great putter. He talked about why he believes Keegan Bradley will win again before Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson. He also shared a couple of tips for a great pre-shot routine and how to get the ball close on bump and run shots.
Tim Simpson told great stories about his comeback from Lyme disease and spinal fusion surgery. He shared memories from his time playing at the University of Georgia and rooming with teammate Chip Beck. He also shared memories from his Tour victories at the 1985 Southern Open over Clarence Rose, the 1989 USF&G Classic over Greg Norman and Hal Sutton and the 1989 Walt Disney World Classic over Donnie Hammond and Kenny Knox.

On this edition of Next on the Tee my guests are Top PGA Instructors Rob Strano and Jim Estes. 
Rob shared his stories from this year's PGA Mercahndise Show including some of the cool new products he saw there. We also got a couple of new cool putting drills to try, some tips on how to improve our mental approach by doing less negative self talk, and hear about his conversations with Hal Sutton and Brad Faxon.
Jim Estes updated us on the great work he and his team are doing helping to teach or re-teach the game to our wounded service veterans through the Salute Military Golf Association (www.smga.org). He also shared thoughts on some of the things he saw at the PGA Merchandise show and stories from his experience last year finishing as low club professional at the Senior PGA Championship.

Steve Mona is the CEO of the World Golf Foundation which runs the World Golf Hall of Fame, The First Tee and Golf 20/20. He is annually ranked as one of the most powerful people in golf by Golf Magazine and Golf Inc. magazine. He gave us an update on the record breaking year the PGA Tour had regarding charitable contributions; it was more than the 4 major sports combined. He also shared the 3 major issues going on within the game that the PGA Tour leaders are looking to address. We also talked about the PGA Merchandise Show and what they will try to accomplish in April during National Golf Day when he and others meet with Congress.
Peter Kessler has been The Voice of Golf since he hosted Golf Talk Live on The Golf Channel back when it launched in January of 1995. He talked about some of the greatest shot in PGA Tour history, who the biggest cheater of all-time was, how former President Clinton taped his show every Monday night and the White House urgently requested a copy of the show when their VCR broke. We also talked about the inaccuracies of most golf movies and the book Peter has started to write.

On this edition of Next on the Tee I am joined by Bobby Nichols, 12 time winner on the PGA Tour including the 1964 PGA Championship plus PGA & LPGA Class A Teaching Professional Rhonda Ferguson.
Mr. Nichols shared his story about starting out as a caddy at age 9 and being the personal caddy for Dodgers legend Pee Wee Reese. He recounted his victory in the 1964 PGA Championship over Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Ben Hogan. We also talked about the influence Dr. Cary Middlecoff had on him, his victories at the 1962 St. Petersburg Open, the 1973 Westchester Classic and getting a second life in golf when the Senior Tour started.
Rhonda shared her amazing story of not picking up a golf club until she was a freshman in high school and 4 years later making the golf team at the University of Florida which was the 2 time defending national champions. She talked about learning the game from Kevin Maris, Roger Maris' son. We also talked about her teaching style and how she keeps junior players engaged by making golf practice fun, and the golf course she now owns in Jacksonvile, River Bend Golf Links, which has a motto "No Tee Times, No Dress Code, Just Come Have Fun.

On this episode of Next on the Tee my guests are Class A PGA Teaching Professional Mike Landry and 3 time winner on the PGA Tour Kenny Knox. We'll get some lessons from Mike on how to read the greens better, plus some short game tips from his Short Game Master series. We'll get tips from Kenny about proper putting stance plus how to hit better lag and short putts. We'll also get some tips on how to hit better bunker shots particularly if you're dealing with hard pan sand. We talked about the great work Dennis is doing leading the Professional Caddies Association and bringing caddy programs back to local courses. Russ talked about being on the bag for Bernhard Langer and what it was like being in the lead going to the back 9 at Augusta in 2004. He also talked about the great they're doing at Caddy For A Cure for our wounded service veterans.

Brian Anderson - Brian shared how he went from being a Catcher for St. Mary's University to being one of the youngest broadcasters in professional baseball at age 22. He talked about the cramped bus rides going from town to town but how all that experience helped him transition over to The Golf Channel. He also talked about what it was like broadcasting tournaments in the early days of The Golf Channel plus some stories about his off season job broadcasting the NBA on TNT.
David Abeles - David walked us through their catalog of equipment including what makes their TP5, TP5x, and Project (a) golf calls unique in the market. We also talked about the great success that TaylorMade players like Justin Rose, Dustin Johnson and Tiger Woods have had over the last few months. David also gave us a sneak preview into what they will be revealing at the PGA Merchandise show in January. He says it will forever change how metal woods are made.
Ben Wright - Mr. Wright told the story of how he went AWOL from his military unit so he could watch Ben Hogan play in the 1953 Open Championship at Carnoustie. He also talked about why Jack Nicklaus' 1 iron shot on the 17th hole at the 1972 US Open at Pebble Beach is the greatest shot he ever saw. He also shared his affinity for what he's seeing from the young guns out on Tour now.

Scott White - Scott took us through how the brand has emerged from bankruptcy and their new factory to the consumer business model which has cut cost out of their business and results in huge savings for consumers. We talked about the construction and technology in their PTx and Fort Worth irons, their TK wedges as well as ther hybrids. He also gave us peak into what they are developing for 2018.
Dr. Bob Jones IV - Doc talked about his recent trip to St. Andrews including a walking tour of the Old Course. He talked about the legend that his Grandfather once tore up his scorecard after visiting the Hill Bunker on the 11th hole. We talked about how incredibly deep the Hell Bunker is on 17, as well as what it feels like as you walk a course that every legend of the has played. Doc is a Sports Psychologist so we discussed tips for dealing with pressure during a tournament and how we can help our junior golfers deal with playing in front of a crowd for the first time.

On this edition of Next on the Tee I'm joined by 2010 LPGA Teacher of the Year Cindy Miller and Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor Eric Johnson.
Cindy Miller - Cindy and I discussed her program, "Pursuing Your It" which helps develop whatever it is that you're passionate about. We discussed, when looking for an instructor how important is it to match your personality type to the personality of the teacher you're considering. She also shared a great tip on how to practice indoors over the winter using marshmallows instead of golf balls.
Eric Johnson - Eric and I discussed the future of Tiger Woods and how it's not even close that Jack Nicklaus is by far the greatest player of all-time. We also talked about Bernhard Langer's longevity and dominance on the Champions Tour plus how to keep the ball in the fairway and out of the leaves this Fall/Winter.

Bill talked about his design philosophy, what sets his bunker style apart from other designers, what he is doing to keep more players engaged in the game, his 6 hole pitch and putt courses that are getting great reviews, why he was named by Golf Inc. Magazine as one of the Top 10 Most Innovative People in Golf and the work he's doing with the Long Leaf Tee Initiative.
I also replayed my conversation with Gary Player from earlier this year, prior to Master's week. We discuss his 60 year love affair with Augusta National, the Masters Tournament and its patrons. We also discussed his longevity in the game, fitness, and a whole lot more.
